This week your child learned all about the letter Aa. They met Ms. A who likes to a'choo when she is happy. They found out that she is the most happy when she is being a good helper. They learned how to trace the letter Aa and put paper apples on the letters, and they made Ms. A puppets.
Also, because it was the first week of fall and also because it starts with the letter "A," your child learned all about apples this week and did fun apple activities such as apple prints and tasting different apples.
Next week your child is going to learn all about the letter Rr (Mr. R), and we will be starting a new month next week (it's going to be October already!).

This week in 4K at Jefferson, we learned the letter and sound for Nn. Mr. N has a noisy nose that makes the /n/ sound. The children painted the letters in their names and made noodle necklaces.
Ask your child to tell you the letter sound for N and practice writing a capital "N" and lowercase "n". The story "NOISY NORA" By Rosemary Wells was our featured trade book for the letter N. Very funny...check it out at your local library. We also had our first practice fire drill.
