Miss A and Apples Week

Miss A tells us that she is still happy even though she sneezes all day. To learn the short a sound the children pretend to sneeze with a sign language "A" and end their sneeze with a "Fonzie" AAA with thumbs up to learn the long a sound.  Ask your child to show you how Miss A sneezes.  This week the children were introduced to our shape friends and played the game, "Shapes", by: Greg & Steve (children's music artists). Our theme this week was apples for the letter A.  Take a look at our favorite color apple graphs and apple prints.

Colors with Brown Bear, Brown Bear

To review and learn our colors, the story, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" was our featured text the second week of 4K.  Take a look at our brown bear painting.

Noisy Nose N

Our letter friend, Mr. N has a noisy nose! Our theme this week was the letter and sound for N.  We painted and counted the letters in our names to create a class name graph. We played the game, "Round and Round...what's your name?", glued noodles onto the letter N, and made our first letter puppet.

Rainbow Fish in 4K

The Rainbow Fish learned to share his shiny scales and became the happiest fish in the ocean.  In 4K, we are learning how to ask for something we want with kind words.  Children may respond with sharing or say I will give it to you when I am done.  If children need help with sharing in a timely manner, we use the "sharing timer."
